Relaxing Journeys

Very happy with the tour structure and extremely happy with the professional coordination and communication from Toni of the Relaxing Journeys consulting team. Overall the accommodation was excellent, however the standards at the Rutherford Hotel, Nelson was significantly lower than the others. The hotel was dated and reception service was very ordinary. WiFi was flakey and I would prefer a less complicated car parking arrangement. Other than that thank you for a well coordinated, excellent holiday package.

We’re very pleased we chose to work with Relaxing Journeys to plan our honeymoon. It relieved so much stress and we were able to enjoy the trip worry free. The hotels picked had great service and amazing views! I was very impressed by the hotel choices. A minor hiccup in the schedule due to sickness and also an event that was cancelled by weather were swiftly taken care of by our coordinator, and all refunds processed. We enjoyed our self driving tour and all events planned very much and will definitely plan our next trip to NZ with Relaxing Journeys again!

Only positive thoughts: fantastic organisation, no hassle, voucher system for accommodation, rental cars, extra excursions etc worked seamlessly. Motels/hotels were excellent quality and just what we wanted. My only wish would have been to spend more time in Wellington as the itinerary only allowed us one short evening there. Fantastic trip.

The Kruse commentary system did not work on the South Island, only the GPS for navigation. We followed all the instructions on the system but still no commentary. It was a disappointment as the Kruse commentary was very informative and enjoyable on the North Island and we were hoping for the same experience on the South Island. Fortunately the GPS still worked so we were able to navigate without issues. The South Island was experiencing some bad weather during our visit but we were still able to see many things and enjoy our time there.

Our tour was very well organised and everything ran like clockwork, even when we hit ‘bumps in the road’ due to uncharacteristic weather adversities. Our contacts (Christine and Toni) really went the extra mile to ensure we enjoyed our vacation.

Hi, the tour was very good you certainly know your country and the pace of the tour the only comment I would make is the apartment in Wanaka (Archway Motel) was not as good as the other motels it was very tired and too much furniture in the room but we had an amazing time. The weather was unkind to us but we cannot control nature. We would certainly recommend you to any U.K. friends that are considering coming to New Zealand. I must say that our adviser Toni was very professional and helpful to us all the way through our booking, so thank you to you all at Relaxing Journeys.

Toni was extremely professional and responsive to any questions we had while booking the holiday and managing the unforeseen earthquake and impact on the trip. The trip itself covers a great deal of the varied landscape of the South Island. If anything, next time I would give myself more time in Nelson (we were there for two nights). We had an opportunity to explore the Abel Tasman region, but would also would have liked more time to explore the fantastic wineries of the Marlborough region. Would definitely recommend this trip and Relaxing Journeys. Everything went smoothly from picking up the hire car at the airport, checking in to hotels (which were all great!) and to dropping the car back off in Christchurch. Thank you for a memorable experience!!! 🙂

We loved our vacation that Relaxing Journeys helped us plan. We appreciated the great accommodations and the fact that each accommodation was central to the activities we planned. Most hotels were within walking distance of those activities. We highly recommend this company in helping other plan their vacation to New Zealand.

We had an outstanding time on our holiday. We felt 5 and 1/2 weeks was the perfect amount of time to explore both the North and South Islands. We appreciated the location of all of our lodging. Marie was most helpful during the planning stage and when we made a couple of adjustments for an airplane ride (weather related) and one lodging location (weather related), your organization was most helpful. We would highly recommend your company to anyone traveling to New Zealand. Thank you for making our holiday magical.

Very good itinerary, with some varying bed and breakfasts. After a poor start at Ponsonby, where the B&B was of a poor standard, with no wardrobe space and a set of coat hangars on the wall, most of the others were of a higher standard. A special mention of praise to Sally for service above and beyond normal. New Zealand is a beautiful country and Relaxing Journeys was a good way to see it. You have our recommendations, and we would certainly look to you if we come in the future. Last but not least thanks to Mani for composing our trip.

Very nice!! I wish we knew that the bus would pick us up at our hotels!! We would have stayed further out of town.

Bit of mix up on arrival at Auckland airport – we waited at least an hour for another couple off our flight from Melbourne to discover later that they were flying in from Adelaide! The general travelling and touring was fine. Our only gripe was that the evening meal arrangements were a bit too regimented for us – eating between 6.30pm to 7.00pm – we would have preferred a bit more flexibility but I don’t know whether that would be possible.
